Morning Erections

When I wake up in the morning I often have an erection. I was wondering if there was anything wrong about me.

Paul is right all men unless there is a disorder get erections durring REM and as it is the last stage of sleep you are bound ot wake up with one quite often.  It happens to all of us so no need to worry.

It's normal for a guy to get an erection about every 90 minutes while sleeping. They usually last about 10-15 minutes each. They happen during a phase of sleep called REM, which stands for Rapid Eye Movement. During this phase our muscles twitch in anticipation of waking up. This causes our eyes to move rapidly. (Thus the name). It also causes the blood vessels that control the blood flow to the penis to relax and allow blood in - an erection. It's also the phase we dream in and the phase we wake up in.

Because we wake up in this phase and we also get erections in this phase, it's perfectly normal to wake up with an erection. Some guys call it "morning wood" or a "pee hardon" because our bladders are usually full when we wake up. (Since we also wake up and dream in this phase that's why we remember our dreams. We have to wake up during them to remember them).

So, you're perfectly normal.
