I just started playing tennis about two years ago. Last May/June, after playing a very easy match (seriously, the intensity was low), I woke up the next day not being able to stand up straight.
The pain was concentrated mostly in the upper left part of my abdomen. It's hard to describe the pain, but it would become unbearable and then ebb away- and continue in that pattern. My parent and I both believed it to be a muscle spasm from strain, but the pain continued to bother me.
I visited my doctor who referred me to a surgeon. There was nothing strange about my side except for tenderness when I touched it. The surgeon recommended that I take Ibuprofen whenever my side started hurting again.
I take Advil almost daily for backpain and the like, so up until last week I just ignored the odd sensations in my side. But now I'm beginning to feel nauseous like I'm about to vomit after I eat anything. And more and more, I feel like there's something wriggling around in my abdomen. I can't stand to touch my left side around my ribs or sleep on that same side.
Does anyone have a clue what's going on with me? I'm starting to doubt this has anything to do with muscle strain.
