Shortness of breath/yawning/burping/pains

Hello there, im a 18 year old male. ! I'v been having problems w/ shortness of breath now for about 6 months now. It all started one night when i began to fill this ache in my left arm, to all of a suddenly ended up having a lot of problems breathing and was shaking. I went to the e.r. and everything seemed to be alright. During this time I did have a bad sinus infection, and I think a lot of the sever problems I had was panic, and caused me to have a panic attack. I have been told I have Acid Reflux, Allergies, Asthma, anxiety, but everything they seem to give me just is not the case. I'v had tons of tests done, lung function test, blood works, urine samples, you name it. Gone to all sorts of specialists, and they just give me the same answers. Sense it started I think it has improved a lot to a state where it doesn't bug me constantly, but I still feel the affects all through out the day. I notice that I tend to burp a lot, and yawn for more air. It feels as if my lungs don't expand all the way, and i get pains in my chest, and my arms. Doctors say though that my lungs are working fine. I begin to wonder if I will ever find an answer to this, and recently I have been getting a lot of sinus headaches, but idk if thats due to the weather or what. I'm also curious to a question of an experience I had a month before I had these problems....I was in a very depressed state of time, and resorted to taking some morning glory seeds with my friends for a high to feel better, which wasn't a smart idea, but I know they have mercury on them which we didnt wash off, Anyways I ended up in the E.R. ended up puking everything out, but Poison patrol said that it wouldn't have any affect on me and would be gone in the morning, no signs of poisoning in blood work or anything has shown up, but it sorta makes me wonder sense it happened a week after that experience took place.

I would like to know if anyone had any suggestion or problems to what the cause of this might be.

I also am one of those people of whom some people title as a "perfectionist" or a "worry wart". Hah, in other words, I must admit that I am often nervous and my nerves get the best of me. This causes some mild anxiety at times, (I know that may sound silly for a thirteen year old girl to be saying, but, believe it or not, it's quite true). Is it possible that my case of anxiety may simply be the cause of all of this trouble? If not, what is it? I pray that it'a nothing serious and hopefully something that can be cured???

I am a thirteen year old girl and I must say that I, too have recently been experiencing a breathing issue. In fact, my symptoms sound very similar to all of yours that you have been describing. I am very athletic (a very hard working and dedicated gymnast). In addition, I participate in a number of vigorous activities during my leisure time. A doctor has never declared to me that I have asthma, (although my brother does so I am beginning to wonder if i may have a small case of asthma as well). These breathing problems are off and on where I find myself continuously gasping for breaths and repeatedly yawning in an attempt to provide my lungs with more air. When this occurs, I feel as if I am not retrieving enough air and my lungs grow tight. Sometimes i even experience mild and random chest pains. I find it difficult to sleep at night, for it is so much more difficult to breathe when I am constantly thinking about my breathing pace as I fall asleep. My parents seem to think that it's in my head and I am allowing my imagination to get the best of me.. But if that were true, I would never be this uncomfortable and constantly light headed, feeling as if I must pass out. I know that these troubling symptoms are not normal, right? Especially not for a girl of my age and great physical condition I am in. So what is wrong with me? Is my case severe enough to have to go to the doctors or possibly even the e.r? Feedback is greatly appreciated!! :)

I've had similar symptoms for the last 4 months.  I've been on Prevacid, but when I started using acacia fiber and soothing tummy teas, I started to feel better.  Check out www.helpforibs.com.  Hope this helps.

I too have these breathing problems. almost exactly like you have described. For me the symptoms come and go. Several months can go by without any problems and all the sudden i will start to develope flem in my lungs and a sinus infection and then the breathing problems are back. they will last for a couple weeks then go away... please let me know if you find a cure or answer to why this is happening.

I too experience all of those problems and have seen many doctors but have been told each time that it is just anxiety.I get to the point sometimes where i almost pass out because i notice myself having a hard time breathing and i start to panic. When this happens ive realized it helps to just lay down and talk to someone to take your mind off of it.The pains and shaking are also very normal and with anxiety you can get pains pretty much anywhere. It can also make things such as asthma and allergies much worse which will cause infections and trouble breathing.
Taking morning glory seeds probally didnt harm you but as with anything taken to achieve a high,it can cause anxiety. My anxiety problems started once i began taking drugs and i thought too that i had really hurt myself but its usually something that just comes along with paranoia from drugs.i just suggest not to do anything else to get high and maybe even going to a counselor.Even if you dont feel you have anything to let out sometimes you really do and dont realize it.i hope this helped and good luck.im sure youll be much better in time :)

I also forgot to add that, I have had shoulder/neck pains for a while in my life, which i had physical therapy for, and when i was younger, probably about 8 or so i had to get a spinal tap.
