penile varicose vein

I am 21 years old and recently i have developed a varicose vein on my penis. It runs from the base of the head along my shaft.I masturbate a lot but however for the past 3 months i have stopped. The vein gives me slight discomfort.I am not sexually active.
Will the varicose vein ever heal? If so , how long will it take?
What kind of diet do I have to maintain to do so?
Can I have sex without it affecting my life?
Is there any medication I can take that can help the healing process?

Yes the vein has been present for almost half a year now and doesnt seem to go away.I get a slight discomfort some times in my flaccid state. It is just a superficial vein but i dont like the look of it and want it removed or even better healed....:(

Hi!
It is normal to have a bulging vein on and off on the penis at various locations. They disappear as they come. If a vein persists for more than two weeks you must consult your doctor. The only point of consideration is clots in these veins. However the clots make them painful. So if there is pain then also consult your doctor. Do not fiddle with it. Leave it alone. This needs to be treated with either local injections or medications or even surgery as a persistent varicose vein may hamper erection. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
