Need Help Please

Hi everyone, its my first time here.  After giving birth to my second child in 2004, my health started deteriorating.  I developed allergies, sinus problems and the worst was abnormal uterine bleeding.  Went from dr to dr and they all said my bleeding was due to hormonal imbalance.  They put me on different BC pills which made me feel terrible.  Finally in July 2009, I went to to specialist who diagnosed me with adenomyosis.  I was bleeding tons and tons then and had to be operated (total hysterectomy-ovaries intact) on right away.

After the operation in July, had to stay in bed for weakness (lost a lot of blood) but was not getting stronger.  Noticed that I was getting muscle cramps, sleepy all the time, tired, moody and gaining weight.  I went to a doctor who ordered a hormone test and results are:

TSH 4.94     normal .27-4.2
FT3  1.32                3.95-6.8
FT4    .91                .89-1.76
Progesterone         .19                 24-81
Cortisol 7.03            6.2-19.3
Testosterone  2         6-82

He said I had hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency and low progesterone.

Could this have caused my adenomyosis?  Or could my hysterectomy have caused this.  Do I need more tests?  He is prescribing t3/t4 med and DHEA to me.

Its been a roller coaster ride and I just want to feel better.

The DHEA is more than likely going to help you get your adrenals up to par.  It is possible that you are just having things happen all at the same time. Having the adenomyosis is not normally related to other issues.
I think now you are on the medication, you will get better all the time, and live a long and happy life!

I have been feeling better, thanks.  But what could have caused this?  Why DHEA?

Based off those labs - it sounds like you are recieving the right medication for what you posted.

You may notice alot of improvement with the progesterone.
