How long recovery after surgry? (days in hospital and before you can go back to work)

My doctor told me in the hospital until the day after surgery, out of work for 2 weeks minimum.

I was off of work for 11 days, but I went home from the hospital that same day.  I was in the OR at around 10:30am, out by 1:00pm and discharged from the hospital by 5:30pm.

I was in hospital for three nights (and had to sweet talk them to let me out due to low calcuim levels) two weeks off work but went back very part-time...

Just had my pre-op appointment. My doc said one night in hospital but a week off work.

My doctor told me two nights in the hospital, and two weeks off work.

That is pretty much the standard in Canada, from what I've read.
