A more active TN site is: http://www.**************.org/
This is the Facial Pain Association website. You can post your questions and find out a lot of information there.
My advice to everyone with TN is to find a good Facial Pain Specialist -- these are doctors that deal with TN patients every day. There are at least five procedures (surgeries) that may be helpful depending upon your specific situation. Your first priority should be to control the pain. This stops the nerve from sending weird pain signals. Then speak to your doctor regarding what is the best procedure for you. Everyone experiences TN differently. A good doctor will send you for a thin slice MRI (TN protocol) to determine if a blood vessel or vein is pressing on the nerve, or if you have a tumor or MS.
Best wishes on finding a pain solution!
