Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
A fungal taste in mouth can be due to several reasons. Either you have a fungal infection or there is pus in the gum or dental infection. It can also be due to fungal infection of the maxillary sinus. Please consult a doctor.
Have citrus juices, lemonade and foods marinated in vinegar. They help in washing away the bad taste by producing more saliva. Brush your teeth and your tongue with a tongue cleaner at least twice in a day and surely at bedtime. Take Vit C tablets, over the counter oral mouthwashes will help fight the taste. Increase fibers in the diet. Eat fresh things like apples that are crunchy or rough things like popcorn scrapes the white debris off the tongue. I’ll be surprised if these tips do not help. If they don’t, you’ll have to see a doctor.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
it could be a sinus infection ! i had this if u plug one nostril do u still taste it? if not then its sinus and its a gross taste. do u feel any type of srip down the back of ur throat? anyway no matter what is causing the taste it should be checked
I would definitely see someone. There is no OTC medication for buccal fungus which you would need to see a professional to see how its progressed and exactly what type of fungus if its actually fungus at all and they will determine how to properly treat it.
Good luck!
