Hello,
Groin pain can be due to a number of causes.Broadly, they are either musculoskeletal or non musculoskeletal causes.
Musculoskeletal causes include muscle strain or tendonitis.Treatment is rest, warm and cold compresses and NSAID pain killers.Sometimes entrapment of the nerve causes burning or shooting pain in distribution of nerve. Infiltration of site with local anesthetic and topical cream (eg, capsaicin) is the treatment in that case.
Nonmusculoskeletal causes include hernias,UTI,ureteric stones,PID(pelvic inflammatory disease) or ovarian cysts.Torsion of the ovarian cyst causes severe shooting pain in the groin and is considered an emergency.
In my opinion you should consult a doctor and get blood tests, ultrasound pelvis and CT lower abdomen done. You may also need to undergo nerve conduction tests.Treatment will depend on the cause.
Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing.
high temperature usually indicates in infection, and given the site of your pain you could have an infection in that region eg urinary tract infection or pelvic inflamatory disease, and i would of thought your blood pressure been raised would be due to stress with you been anxious, but cannot say for definite. i would of thought bloods would have been taken to clarify infection, and other possibilities. if not you should go and get your blood taken, go to your gp. then depending on your results of your blood will go one of two ways, you will either go for a scan or be prescribed antibiotics. hope everything turns out ok.
