Please help. Weakness, seeing vibrations, numbness, joint pain

Hi

I’m hoping someone can shed some light on my symptoms.  I’ve been feeling awful for two years now and I’m not getting anywhere with a diagnosis.

I’ve had pain under left and right ribs for about 18 months.  Had two ultrasounds which came back clear.

I’ve also been suffering joint pain in hands and feet, severe chest and upper back pain. Almost feels like my muscles have been stretched to their limit and they can’t live anymore.  I get burning in between my shoulder blades.

I have numbness in my legs and fingers.  One leg went completely numb for a whole day.  I sometimes get burning in my scalp.

But what’s worrying me more recently is that I keep waking during the night and feeling weak and with a sense of doom.  Also the last couple of days certain things seem to be vibrating when I look at them and my vision seems a bit ‘off’. My daughters lips, the window frame etc seemed to be vibrating though I know this isn’t possible.

I have a general feeling of weakness like my legs and arms don’t work if that makes sense.  Always feel constantly tired and don’t sleep well.

Last week I kept getting Adrenalin surges rushing through me when I was watching a film.  It scared me so I took myself to the urgent care centre who pretty much sent me away. I sat in the car and had a good cry, and once that was over it was like something had been released and I felt better.

I feel like I can’t function through the day because of these feelings.  The weakness and numbness is scaring me.

I’m female, 45.  Bloods were normal last time, vitamin D ok ish.  Am taking supplements.

I feel like I’m losing my mind.  Can anyone identify with these symptoms?

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that here in the UK.  You can’t just ask for tests, your GP has to refer you and since mine thinks it’s all anxiety there’s no way he will refer me for anything.  It took me a year to get a referral for an ultrasound after having stomach pains.  I guess I’ll just have to put up with it for now.

Hello~I can sure identify with a lot of your symptoms. I am having numbness in certain areas as well, and when I get stressed, it gets worse.

Has any doctor suggested an MRI? This would rule out MS. I am going to see a doctor tomorrow to see why I am having these odd feelings. I do have fibromyalagia, I know it can cause all these feelings and anxiety, but, I want to make sure it is only that and not MS.

My chiropractor says it is all high anxiety, and maybe he is right, I noticed that when I am happy and doing things I enjoy, I don't notice the feelings at all, but wow, let me get depressed and stressed, they are back with a vengeance, he says that is a classic sign of fibromyalgia.

My suggestions would be, see a chiropractor, he/she will take some x-rays and discuss them with you, hopefully, after a few adjustments, you will start to feel better. However, they are due to anxiety, the treatments won't be as beneficial.

I would ask the doctor about fibro and MS and ask for an MRI to rule the MS out.

Lack of sleep causes this too, I never get enough, so, try to get more sleep or rest.

I hope you feel better soon.
