Ouch! What's this...

During activities such as intercourse or anything that makes your blood pump quite hard i have an intense pain all around my head (it feels like it's pumping really hard) the only way i can describe the pain is if you shake your head from side to side very fast and hard. Any ideas?

Hello,

You seem to be having exertional headache and sexual headache. Sexual activity is an exertional activity which can cause exertional or sexual headache. This type of headache can occur during intercourse (preorgasmic headache) or during orgasm (orgasmic headache). Preorgasmic headache typically appears as a dull ache in the head and neck that slowly intensifies with sexual excitement. Orgasmic headaches usually present as a severe pain during orgasm.

Exertional headaches are frequently found in both migraine sufferers and nonheadache-prone patients. It may be due to muscle contraction or vascular involvement.

Use of anti-inflammatories like indomethacin or ibuprofen or propranolol prior to sexual activity and psychological counseling for selected patients is helpful.

Severe cases may need to get neurological pathologies like aneurysms and tumors to be ruled out by a neurologist after CT or MRI head.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.

hi,

This is very limited information but as a suggestion I really think you should get your blood pressure checked, as it may be high needing medication or a change in lifestyle.
