Pain in foot, approx 1 month after puncture wound

To make a long story short... In mid january, I stepped on a thick shard of glass from a broken mirror. It went about 1/2 inch into my foot directly in the middle of the arch. It hurt REALLY bad for about a week. First few days I couldnt walk. I cleaned it VERY VERY often, put antibiotic cream on it, kept it wrapped etc... I know i should have went to the doctor but i have no health insurance. After about a week and a half my foot felt completely back to normal. No more pain. The puncture wound was NEVER red, irritated, or anything. So it seemed like an easy healing. The spot that the injury was felt kind of hard once it healed, but not painful to touch, so i figured it was just scar tissue or what not. Well, here we are a little more than a month from the initial injury and the past 2 days my foot has started hurting again. Today is worse than it was yesterday. It seems to only hurt when i walk, flexing the arch. The pain is definitely from the inital injury because that is exactly where i can feel it. My question is... Do you think its just a lingering tendon/nerve/muscle damage from the puncture wound, since it did go pretty deep in? It does not hurt badly, just enough to notice. and only when using it. even when i sit here and try to flex my foot around, it is not sore. only putting pressure and walking. I have no other signs of infection, do not feel bad at all. Any input on this? Please dont tell me "go to the dr". Not to be rude, but I know my options when it comes to that. Just want an opinion on this though :) I just have never had an injury of this kind and it seems odd to me that it didnt hurt for almost a month and then came back out of nowhere?

I have scars that flare up itching like they are healing ten years after the fact. It could just be your body still attempting to heal it on the inside. You could try a pain rub on the area, or otc painkillers. If it persists you may want to see a physiotherapist for foot arch muscle repair, or try to search for the same online. Watch for infection of course.
