What is this?

My daughter showed me a bump on the back of her thigh.  At first I thought a wart, but I am not sure.  Took picture last night, now is turning purple.  It is about the size of a pea, not warm to touch, no pain, only bleeds or pus when pushed on.  I think the we will have to go to the Dr. for this one.  Any ideas?

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
This looks like a boil or folliculitis. Hot compress, cleaning with surgical spirit, applying local antibiotic cream should help. Once a mouth forms on this, and pus is drained it will heal. Sometimes this heals by itself without draining the pus due to the body’s own resistance mechanism.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Thank you for the feed back and advice.  When she got home today it is looking slightly better.  Not as "angry".  If you know what I mean.  I am going to try the hot compresses and let you know how it goes.

Dear Worried:
Use hot compresses on this, as often as you can.  Like for ten or twenty minutes every hour, for the first day.
I think you'll notice that the moist heat helps the injured area to heal.

You can use a thick wash cloth, or a dish towel, wrung out in hot water.  Refold to expose a fresh hot area, after a couple minutes.   Wring out again in hot water as needed.

Let me know how your daughter is doing with this, I'll come back later and check.
Wishing you the best,
Carol

Could it be a spot turned infectious? I had one on my arm once and it looked very similer to the picture. If it is a doctor should be able to treat it with cream or drainage etc i hope it  clears up soon!
