Hello:) I started to experience chills last year when i was VERY ILL and had 2 surgeries 10 days apart, i did have a Urinary Tract Infection as well , so i thought that might be the cause, but i was treated for that in the hospital and it showed negative when all the antibiotics were given and i gave a Urine Specimen.I was SOOOO incredibly cold, freezing when i was in the hospital although i had several blankets on me @ all times..After i returned home after 19 days, i still had the chills on and off for about 1 month or so, then they were gone !! I never had a fever either. They did return a few months later , so NOW i still get them periodically.Tonight they started again, so i decided to go on line to see what information i could obtain.ALL the comments you and all the others made are exactly what i have been experiencing, so now im thinking it could be sooo many things,so im going to start by eating better, going to the chiropractor and drinking ALOT of water.I don't have insurance sooo i can't go to the Doctor, but iam going to start taking vitimins as well.Thank you for your comments, Martha
...I had the "Chill Problem" on and off for some years.I had Pain in All
Of my Joints, could Barely Walk at times?..(by the way,I am Replying to the Original Post-by Danielle). So,during a check-up in the hospital about 4
years ago,Doc was sitting in my room,perplexed-all of my tests seemed
Within Normal ranges. So I pipe up and say..."I was reading a story about
A lady (in a Health Digest), and She had the same Symptoms as Me,"
He said,"What was the Diagnosis?"... And I replied "Fibromyalgia". Doc
Looked Stunned, jumped to his feet, and said,"I'm Ordering Up some More
tests right away!". Within 1 day and a half,I was discharged, and I had my
Pain-Type pills.I Still get Chilled and have a few Frozen Attacks, but I can
Stay on Top of this thing now, because the medication Helps.
wow i cant believe how many people are going through this. I have been suffering this problem for about 4 years now.It started the day i was due to leave hospital with my new born.I felt really drained,my head felt tight and tingly and i started to shake and felt absolutely frozen.I thought it may have been from the severe blood loss i just had and didn't worry too much.10 days later i made my hubby take me to the ER cos i could not stop shaking and thought i may be having a hypo due to having had gestational diabetes. They run a number of tests and found nothing. It subsided for a while and then came back.I find before it comes on that i feel really tired an feel full and bloated. My neck starts feeling stiff then it moves all over.I feel frozen but yet hot.Like my blood is running cold. I tremble like a leaf in a wind storm for about 10 min then it goes away.Other times i just feel frozen, even when i am in front of the fire and a hot bath or hot bed will calm me down.I have always put it down to hormone changes as i am perimenapause and suffer anxiety attacks due to it as well.I have rheumatoid arthritis as well and know its nothing to do with that.My thyroid is fine, hormones tested fine, blood work is fine so blow me down i have no idea whats going on.I looked up all the symptoms i have and the fact that i had my tubes tied came into the equation and many others said they also had the same symptoms afterwards. If men are also having these chills then the hormone thing can be ruled out unless we have an over production of testosterone.Any one with an answer please help cos i am at my wits end.
