cocaine overdose

Well ill start by saying ive use cocaine on and off for 9 years. i wouldnt do it very often like 4 or 5 times a year maybe more or less. definetly more in my younger years. well my wife left me and i had one of my buddies move in to help with rent. he had a connection and was able to get it. so ive done it like 10 times in this past year. 2 times the last 2 times i did it i thought i overdosed. the first time i overdosed i did alittle more than a gram all night i knew i shouldnt have done anymore but i did and i was right my heart started to race i got really confused my head felt swollen and it was very difficult to breath. 2 or 3 weeks later i got some more totally dismissed the fact that i overdosed before did the same thing but was worse both times i had the phone on me with 911 on ready to send.. it was very scary. after the next day i was fine for a week then i got in a fight with my wife went to my buddies house and smoked some weed. all of a sudden i started feeling like i couldnt breath. i left and i felt like i was gonna die my heart was racing i felt pain in my hands and feet my head felt like something was bubbling inside it totally freaked out...stoped my car and ran to someones house but stopped when it subsided....now i have lost 3 weeks of work. i have so called anxiety attacks every day some bad some i can deal with...recently i have been feeling alot better but they still come at night or when  i have caffiene or alot of sugar....my doctor says im perfectly fine bloodwork is fine blood pressure is fine hear rate is fine....not sure what to do next i feel very different...its been 2 months since i last used and overdosed..just wanted to know if anyone has the same thing and if they got better!

You will recover and not have lasting side effects. Cocaine causes a fast heartrate (tachycardia). Spending on the dose the rate can go very high. A young person can stand a very fast heartrate. As we grow older the tolerance to a fast heartrate decreases. For example a twenty year old may handle a heartrate that would prove fatal to a forty year old. The fast heartrate induced with cocaine goes hand in hand with an increase in ventricular sensitivity. This means the heart becomes predisposed to a deadly condition called ventricular fibrillation. Furthermore, as the heart-rate increases past a certain point the heart cannot fill with blood and can become completely ineffective as a pump. Life is not happy without oxygenated blood being pumped. There is another problem with both weed and cocaine. The weed is commonly sprayed with powerful deadly chemicals to destroy the crops in some nations. Neurotoxins.  Chemicals banned in the United States.  And street cocaine today may be cut with a variety of equally deadly substances. Medicmommy has given you some sound advice, as has lacyface.

Anxiety related to drug use. I did drugs for a really long time, and started feeling the same way you are feeling. I'd just feel like I was dying. I stopped doing drugs, and those feelings went away.
At first I went to the doctor and they said it was general anxiety disorder.
But then I started noticing that I got the attacks while I was on drugs or right after I had done drugs and while I was coming down. It was hard to get off drugs, but being sober is worth not feeling like that.

Dude, you are damaging your heart. Your poor body is trying to tell you it has had enough, and it's not as young and forgiving as it used to be...You will die if you continue to do this to yourself...As it stands now, you may be teetering on a full blown heart attack or a stroke which may happen the next time you use...Do you really want to chance being paralyzed for the rest of your life, and having someone wipe your butt for you while you waste away in a nursing home? I have seen this happen many times...And in young people... You have already shortened your life by using...If you stay away from the stuff, your body will mend itself to the best it can...But you have already done some damage...Ask anyone who has been clean 20+ years, and see where their health is...
