hi, i have been having the same thing for the past ehh, maybe 6 years. i went to the doctor, and my doctor told me that when i peirced my ears when i was younger, i must have somehow ripped my earing off the wrong way, and the way my skin grew back was very un-usual. it had grown back as a bump on the back of my ear, similar to what your discribing. my doctor said that this was very un-usual, but it could not hurt or physicaly damage my ear. i hope my description was helpful. please let me know if i was to your assistance .

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
A recent onset painful bump can be a boil, an abscess, a hair follicle infection or a cyst. Though not dangerous this will need to be treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory agents. Please get your PCP to take a look at it. Take care!
