musty odor

My husband has a musty odor, not sweaty but dirty, even after he gets out of the shower and brushes his teeth.  Smells dirty.  I cannot pinpoint which part of his body it is.  I can smell it when he walks into the room but not on any particular part of him.  I don't smell it any other time, just when he is in the room.

My husband had the same problem for a long time. Finally someone suggested that the next time he go to the dermatologist to have them scrape his tongue and look at it under the microscope. Sure enough, he had candida and was given a medication - no more smell!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Either the odor is in the room or you feel it come from your husband. Air the room and see if the smell persists or not. Air all the clothes and clean the cupboards. There could be dampness some where that is causing musty odor.
The other possibility is body sweat. Diabetes, thyroid disorders, carcinoid syndromes and excess sulfite in the diet should be ruled out as possible causes for body odor.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
