sternocleidomastoid muscle enlargement after punctured lymph node

It started with what appeared to be cyst behind right ear (2-3 mm lower then center), which went away after 2 days.
Same thing happened behind left ear almost immediately, and (I deserve every instance of you calling me an idiot for this one) being impatient, i decided to relieve the pressure by puncturing it.
within seconds SCM swelled up.
The cyst went away 2 days later, but the slight swelling of left side SCM  is still there.
local urgent care prescribed some antibiotics which didn't help.

There is no pain or discomfort, I cant even tell its there till i take a close look in the mirror. Others cant see the difference till I point it out.

Loss of appetite and fatigue has been somewhat of an issue recently. The original cyst and my stupid attempt at self treatment happened about 6 weeks ago.

I'm looking to avoid 100000 visits for "trial and error" diagnosis, being uninsured due to recent loss of employment.

Thank you

The sternocleidomastoid muscle helps turn the head.  The two muscles working together regulate the position of the face - straight or off to the side.  A strained SCM can produce swelling and redness at the site of the injury. In severe cases, you also may see bruising or other discoloration along the path of the injury. If the strain results in a muscle spasm, you may notice a twitching or fluttering beneath the surface of the skin. Applying ice for 20 minutes or more may relieve the swelling and redness. Over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, NSAIDs, and analgesic rubs can relieve some of the pain associated with the strain. Consult your physician if you experience pain, numbness or tingling radiating down one or both arms and muscle weakness in your arms or shoulders. While it may be difficult to move your head, talk to your doctor if you are unable to move your head at all, or if the pain worsens over time
