Betamethasone for phimosis

Should I use Betamethasone diproionate while stretching my penis for phimosis ? I have read that .05% w/w Betamethasone helps in doing it better. Is it ok to do this without consulting a doctor. I went to a doctor and he seemed like a big rip off, he just said theres only one way to cure and thats circumcision. I consulted a friend who also had a tight foreskin, and he told me that by washing it and stretching it for 6 months, he was able to cure. Please help me out

Go with your friend's advice - it worked for him, right? If the opening is too narrow for the foreskin to be retracted fully, this stretching will expand it just enough so that it isn't too tight over the penis. A corticosteroid like betamethasone could help by thinning out the skin, but might not be necessary to do this.

Do not opt for circumcision. A few years ago I had a problem with balanitis and and paraphimosis after having had a catheter in. The female doctor at the time immediately suggested circumcision.
For 45 years I never had a problem with my foreskin. After my firm answer of no to circumcsion she prescribed me a steroid cream, and the foreskin was forced back over top of the glans.
After a few days things started to clear but I now had the problem that the foreskin was really tight. I slowly began stretching it several times a day by sticking foreceps into the opening of the foreskin and forcing them apart. After I was able to get my fingers under the foreskin I stretched it more by sticking the index fingers of both hands under the foreskin and slowly pulling them apart. Go slow as you don't want to tare the foreskin. After a few weeks things seemed to have returned back to normal and I have no signs of problems today.
Should stretching not work for you, I suggest prepuplasti. In this procedure only the phimotic ring of the foreskin is removed leaving most of the foreskin intact. After having enjoyed life with a foreskin, I can only immagine a person being sorry about agreeing to circumcision. The foreskin will be missed as it is very sensative and will ad to sexual experience.

At 46, almost 47 now, I have many urological problems as the result of neurological problems. For the last three years I have not been able to engage in sexual activity since I have had a catheter in. Just recently I have noticed a noticable curve in my penis when semi erect. I cannot obatian a full erection due to ED. I know that this is due to scar tissue and Peyronie's disease. I'm very hessitant about mentioning this to the urologist. In surgery to correct this the sking just below the glans is cut and disected to the base of the penis. The scar tissue is then identified and sutures on the oposite side are palced to traighten the penis. Once done the penile sking is returned and sutured to the skin just below the glans. To prevent possible swelling and constriction of the glans, a circumcision is often performed.
At my age and after the many surgeries that I have had, including loosing my left testicle, I will hold on to my foreskin at all costs. No circumcision for me.

Good luck.

Hello,
Phimosis is a constriction of the opening of the foreskin so that it cannot be drawn back over the tip of the penis. Treatment includes application of a steroid cream to the foreskin up to three times a day for about a month to loosen the adhesive ring. But steroid creams should be used only after a doctor’s consultation because it is not without side effects and should be used with caution on the delicate skin of glans. If ballooning during micturition is present then surgical removal of all or part of the foreskin(circumcision) may be recommended.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
