Blood in urine

Last night, i drank heavily and puked afterwards.  While puking, i had the urge to defacate and urinate, so i sat on the toilet and did both while puking.  This is my problem: while pissing, i heaved (or convulsed?  i'm not sure what the terminology is) and the urine came out very hard/fast, causing a sharp pain near the tip of my penis at the time and afterwards.  Blood also came out of the tip of urethra, afterwards.  I managed to get some sleep, and when i awoke i urinated, causing pain again.  I got a piece of toilet paper and dabbed it to the tip of my penis; blood.  I'm really scared right now.  It's been a few hrs since i awoke and i have urinated since then very slowly with no pain and decreasing amounts of blood.  I am very scared right now (and continuous research all this catheter stuff is really freaking me out).  Will this heal on its own?  should i be avoiding drinking anything for a view days (or keep any liquid intake to a bare minimum?).  PLEASE HELP.  my insurance is not good and i know going to the emergency room (today is saturday) will put me a tight situation.

also, there was some discomfort when i was in certain positions that conflicted with the natural curvature of the penis/urethra.  naturally i tried not to recreate bad positions that caused pain/discomfort..

also, i tried NOT to drink alot of liquid from the time of the incident to about sunday afternoon (i figured that drinking alot would make me urinate alot, which may have re-injured whatever was lacerated).  i munched on ice cubes for water intake, and ate solid foods (no soups) as usual.  and obviously NO masturbation from the time of incident to Tuesday afternoon.  MONDAY afternoon i drank a bucket load of water, felt great and didn't have any problems urinating.

this is just an update:
i called my doctor and she asked if i had a fever or abdominal pain, which i did not, i only had pain when i urinated and it was localized in the shaft/head of the penis.  she said to take some tylenol and setup an appointment IF it didn't heal on it's own.

she also said that the urethra heals quickly, which is contrary to what i googled, but she's the doc so i believe her.

the blood became a trickle/highly diluted by saturday night, and then by sunday afternoon there was no more blood (about 2 1/2 days after the initial incident), but i still urinated slowly that day just to be sure not to re-injure whatever damage there was (which i'm assuming was a tear in the urethra, since there was blood, but not sure really).  Today is Tuesday and i'm urinating at near-to-full power :)  just happy i didn't have to go to the emergency room.

one other thing; i made sure to get ALOT of sleep (near 12 hrs a night).  i figured 12 hrs without urinating would give the body a good amount of time to heal un-interrupted.
