Burning while urinating

I have experienced a burning sensation while urinating for the last 36 hours.  I am in a committed relationship with my gay partner and have been monogomous for 9 months as has he.  The one caveat, one that I am not proud of, is that I tried cocaine for the first time about 4 days ago.  Could this have anything to do with my burning sensation.  I went to urgent care a few hours ago and they said the test for a urinary tract infection came back negative.  HELP!

I got my STD screens back for G3 and Chlamydia both negative UTI negative.  Burning sensation still there.  Urgent Care doctor put me on Phenazopyridine but doesn't seem to relieve much pain.  They did put me on Doxycyclene for three days now but I still have a burning sensation and slight inflamation at the tip of the penis.  I am trying to get an appointment with a urologist but not for a few days.  Any other thoughts?

Hi,

A UTI is the most common cause of burning micturition. A prostate inflammation or infection can also manifest with burning sensation and pain during urination and ejaculation and increased frequency of urination.

Cocaine has a tendency to reduce appetite and thirst, along with its actions on other major systems. It is possible that you may not have maintained sufficient intake of fluids in the past couple of days and this could have concentrated the urine and contributed to the problem.

In a prostate infection, urinalysis may usually present negative initially.

You should keep your fluid intake in excess of 2000 ml.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
Add vitamin C-rich citrus and cranberry juices to your diet.
Take tylenol for the pain every 6 hours.
And try to start a course of antibiotics, such as ciprofloxacin, for treatment of any existing infection.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
