I had a torsion of my left testicle 40 years ago while playing football. It was stitched up....problem solved. Twenty years later I started to get pain in my testicle again. A surgeon said that it could be an Inguinal Hernia that was causing it, and an operation could solve the problem. As I was in so much pain I agreed to have the op. Sadly after the op the surgeon told me that there wasn't a hernia but he stitched and stapled me up to save any problems in the future. He actually doubled my pain problem and for sixteen years I had pain every day. Finally four years ago I found a surgeon who removed my testacle. Once again problem solved and pain gone, but a month or two after that I started to get a lot of irritation, burning, stinging and a lot of discomfort in my penis. I went back to my surgeon who told me that it was nothing to do with his operation. Two years later I woke up one morning in severe pain and eventually found out I had a double hernia. I had them repaired eighteen months ago. A month or two after the operation I started getting very severe stinging, burning and irritation in my penis and eventually landed up with severe urethritis. After some weeks and some treatment the urethritis calmed down. I have seen a local urologist and he has no explination for my problem and now fifteen months later I'm starting to get some severe pain in my left groin where the hernia was operated on and it goes all the way down to my ankle. My GP has suggested I may have Gilmores Groin but he isn't sure.
So the question is "Should I go to see a Urologist or a Hernia Surgeon"?? as I've had a problem one way or another for over twenty years.
