Frequency

Right. here goes nothing...I've had problems of frequent urination for over a year now. I have been tested for infection, STI's, had an ultrasound scan and have just returned home after a cystoscopy.

It all started after a urine infection that was treated with antibiotics, a few months later I had a kidney infection that was again treated with antibiotics.

I dont get frequent urination all of the time, some days are completely normal but others i need to go every 5 mins. This never happens when I'm on my period?

Anyway, so the cystoscopy showed that I had a slightly tightened opening to the bladder. Is this what is causing my symptoms?? I can't believe it myself?

Also, the consultant said it could be dilated by surgery or I could take some drugs??!

Help!

I think maybe inconsistant due to the quantity of urine in the bladder.
Mines ok as actually was diagnosed with prostate cancer  which was the cause of the enlargement. I had 45 radition treatments and am ok. I had the lowest type of cancer in that area that a man can get and they did catch it early. Now my problem is the radiation burned my prostate causing scaring and have more pressure but im ok. Better the urge than being terminal if you know what i mean

It makes sense...but then if this is the case, why isn't the frequency constant?

They said there are lots of treatment options including drugs and stretching the urethra. I think that there are also lots of treatments for enlarged prostate!

Hi and welcome. You might be on to something. Im male and have the same problem with an enlarged prostate which puts pressure on the urethra and does not allow normal urination. Sounds similar to yours causing back pressure to the bladder. Did they say they can treat your condition?
