Inflammation of the urethra over a month

I indulged in intercourse withan escort over a month the ago (did use a condom). 4 days after that I started showing symptoms of burning urination, redness/burning on the tip of penis and consulted with a urologist. He recommended zanocin which gave me some relief. After stopping the medication, in about 3-4 days the symptoms came back. Tests for STD, bladder ultrasound and urine culture all came back normal

I self prescribed doxycycline for the pain and immediately got relief. I've gone almost 7 days taking it 2 times daily and the symptoms have largely reduced. Except that erections are painful and I can feel a pain when I touch the base of the urethra. The redness on the tip of the penis has also not gone away. Please advise as to what could be the issue since my urologist has given up on me saying it is probably psychological based on facts he thinks it's probably spermicide reaction
