I have the same problem from time to time. But the smell is not so much from semen as from the genital discharge during arousal. However, when it happens I do have very frequent urination (every hour), and no other symptoms of UTI.
The smell is extremely sharp.
My first guess was that it was produced by some bacteria in the urinary track, which secrete urease and degrade urea into ammonia. I know two types of urinary bacteria that can do this: Ureaplasma and Proteus. Neither was found when I did tests. But actually I had some concerns about that laboratory.
I have read quite many notes in the Internet, where people say it's normal when urine smells like ammonia, that it may be due to diet or exercise. I think it's ********. Urea needs some catalyst to break down. Without urease, production of so much ammonia is virtually impossible. So there should be some microbe producing urease inside the genital track, colonizing it. I wonder why there is no information on this subject in the web.
i ejaculated in my lady friend she was wearing panties and she temporarily kept them on until we could get cleaned up i stole the panties but they stunk of ammonia about 2 days later knew it had to be my semen as i had stolen her panties before and sniffed them frequently its kind of my fetish among others and her panties always smelled like "her" except for this time when i ejaculated in her and she wore the panties with my ejaculates we know this is dirty and not safe but it happened and im wondering how the combination of her and i or a mixture of both of us could create the aroma of ammonia
Depending on where you live, your town's water supply may use a lot of ammonia or bleach to purify it. In my town, they use so much you can smell it right out of the tap. When you intake this, it is filtered out through the kidneys and down the urinary tract during urination, but your body will find other ways of getting it out too, like sweating or during ejaculation. Drinking bottled water should prevent this, if that's the case with your husband.
