Thanks sir! I was relieved somehow. Thanks for posting. I gotta see a urologist.
Hi I too was born with an undescended right testicle. Mine however came down at the age of 13. I still hade it once a while that the testicle would retract.
As long as the left testicle is healthy it should be able to produce sperm as well as testosterrone.
In 1999 I underwent a vasectomy and ended up with a hematoma (blood clot) of my left testicle. I used to come down with frequent infections of the testicles and had hoped that a vasectomy put an end to it, which it did.
I however got a staph infection of my left testicle the one that I had had surgery for to remove the hematoma. I ended up having an emergency orchiectomy to get a necrotic left testicle removed.
Due to the fact that I had many infections the function of the right was impared as well and I'm now using monthly testosterone shots which I inject myself with.
With my right testicle not having descended untill the age of 13 did not have any impact on my fertility. My wife and I have 3 children.
As long as your left testicle is healthy there should be little to no effect on your fertility. You should not have any problems.
To completely put your mind at rest, you can give a semen sample to a lab to confirm that you are fertile or not. They will give you instructions as to how you should handle the semen sample.
My wife and I had tried for 2 years to conceive, but my wife had problems with yeast infections. I also had been getting kidney infections and was put on numerous antibiotics because of it. The antibiotics caused the yeast to thrive. To ensure that I did not have a problem with fertility, I produced a semen sample and it confirmed that my semen was fine.
All the best.
Ron
So what shall i do sir?does my fertility really affected?
Hello,
Inguinal hernia surgeries can cause damage to the testicles, bladder, kidneys, nerves blood vessels, femoral artery (artery in the thigh), pain in the thigh, painful scarring and it can cause infertility in men.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Thanks! I forgot to say that I have undergone an operation last February because of Hernia, and I've learned that Hernia is usually associated with having an undescended testis. I would just like to ask if how that operation affect my case. THANKS!
Hello,
Any undescended testes in adults has to be treated surgically because otherwise fertility is effected and moreover there are more complications related to it. Surgery is not advocated in old adults( more than 32 years). So you can consult a urologist and get it evaluated. Surgery is the only option for this.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
