Need a help.. please reply somebody

Hi.. I'm 24 male.. I've been suffering from pain in the perineum since last 3 years and difficulty in urination and slight pain during urination since last year.. Before 3 years, I developed pain in the perineum only after ejeculation.. Like, pain would appear on the next day if I had ejeculated the previous day.. I used to take analgesics for the same to get relief.. I didn't consult any doc that time.. But after a period of time, say after a year, I started having pain in the perineum even on long standing and after playing football or any outdoor games.. The pain is more like a discomfort.. It makes me rub and kinda squeze my penis continuously which is so embarassing.. This discomfort became so bad that I could not sleep at night whenever it happened.. Then I consulted urologist who diagnosed it as prostatitis just by doing rectal examination and uroflometry.. I was prescribed antibiotics for 15 days and alpha blocker for 1 month.. but it didn't help..

I again consulted another urologist before one and half year.. Got sonography done and it showed mild thickness in the bladder wall at its base and mild enlargement of prostate.. He diagnosed it the same and gave only antibiotics but for 1 and half months.. Even that didn't help..

The pain increased to such an extent that since last 8-9 months, I've been taking analgesic everyday to releive this discomfort and I'm worrying about its side effects.. I again consulted doc before 2 months and he advised a prostatic massage which he didn't want to do.. So he put me on the drug called duatsteride(0.5mg) for 2 months.. He told that the drug is usually given in elderly and for a long period of time but he wanted me to take it for 2 months..

I've had this capsule for 2 months and got some releif in my complaint too.. But still I'm not totally fine.. I don't know what to do.. I'm worrying whether the complaint would increase again.. I want to cure it totaly.. Any advices please.. Thanks

few points - I've never had sex.. I've never been catheterised, I've never had any urinary infection before..

I will send you a private message with the info,  just for the record, I am
not a doctor, sorry.  I am an IC patient and support group leader for Missouri and Arkansas.  My knowledge comes only from personal experience and research trying to help my own condition.

I will send you those links in a pm however where you can discuss things with your doctor who will have a greater knowledge of your specific case.

Do hope you find answers and help soon!

Hi Dr. Shelly,
Thanks a lot for replying.. I want to know what would be the treatment of IC if I really have it.. My recent urologist diagnosed it as a prostatitis just by USG which actully shows mild enlargement of the prostate.. I don't know if that much enlargement can cause such symptoms.. But ya, it also showed mild thickness in the bladder wall at the base.. I forgot to mention that my 2 reports for urine culture were normal.. Let me know what would be the treatment of IC.. I'll definately go to my doc to discuss the same but still just asking for my knowledge..
Thanks again

Regards
Vicki

There are many issues that could cause this however, it is possible you have Interstitial Cystitis.  Unfortunately most doctors think of this as a womens disease and do not look for it in men.  We now know more and more med also have IC.  The ICA just came out with a new pamphlet on IC and Men.  If you would like to pm I would be glad to give you some links to info. you can read and see if this fits what you might be going through
and then discuss this possiblity with your doctor.
