Urinary Urgency

Hello.

I have this urge to go to the toilet very frequently throughout the day, especially at night. When I'm in bed every night, I'll have this urge to pee a lot. I'll try to ignore it as I'm really tired but it feels like my bladder really has a lot to pee. However, the result isn't much, there is only a little pee, contrary to what I'd feel. This goes on and on and I can't really get a good night sleep.

I think this happens when I think about pee. Yes, by just thinking about pee, I'll have the urge to pee already.(I'm dying to go to the toilet right now.) Things get worse when I'm nervous and having exams. When I'm about to have my exams, I'll remind myself to go to the toilet as I won't have time for it later. Is this caused by anxiousness? I don't have any sickness and I'm not on any medication.

I'm sorry if I confused you but I really don't know how to put it into words. Thank you for your time!

I have almost the same problem..I figured it was anxiety base.  I will be fine and not have to pee and I would get really anxious and sometimes I won't be able to hold it and will pee my pants if I don't get to a toilet fast enough.

It's been happening for awhile now.  And I am only 23 years old.  The anxiety I've been having isn't extreme.  It'll be simple stuff like I would just get home and get anixious I know I have to unlock my door before I can get inside to pretty much use the bathroom and if I can't unlock the door fast enough and I can't hold in my urine I will often pee my pants.  It's quite embarrassing.  Basically the straw that broke the camals back was when I picked up my son at his daycare and I walked in and got anxious cause I had to sign him out get his clothes and do all of this stuff and i than got the urge that i ha to pee and to pee now since the restroom was so far away I didn't make it to the restroom in time.  I just can't live this way anymore.  I made an appt with an urologist but the appt isn't til next month and I want some answers. Please help.

Hi,
How are you? Frequent urge to urinate, urgency and urge incontinence are all symptoms of over active bladder. An overactive bladder is a condition that results from sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscle in the wall of the urinary bladder. Overactive bladder causes a sudden and unstoppable need to urinate (urinary urgency). Overactive bladder is especially common in older adults.

There are three modes of treatment for this condition depending upon the capabilities of the patient. They are pelvic floor muscle training, behavioural therapy and medications. Overactive bladder may cause significant social, psychological, occupational, domestic, physical, and sexual problems if left untreated.

I would suggest that you visit a urologist and take his opinion in this regard.
Best.
