Very light pain in right testicle

I'm a 21 yr old male in pretty good health. Currently taking the antibiotic Cipro to treat Prostatitis which has for the most part cleared. After staying in bed for a few weeks to fully recover from my prostate infection i decided to go for a run (1-2 miles). The next day i experienced a very light pain in my right testicle. the pain goes away when i walk but comes back when i sit. I examined myself and found no lumps. Also i had a recent CT-scan on my abdomen and pelvis which showed no signs for worry in my scrotum. I have absolutely no pain or discomfort in my left testicle.

Can anybody help?

Wow, remind me to send you a Christmas Card lol...

Thank you VERY much for your reply...

No swelling or change in color in the scrotum or inguinal area which i understand is located northeast and northwest of the penis. ( http://www.doereport.com/generateexhibit.php?ID=12121 )

I'm experiencing no back pain and no abdomen pain. No notable pain in the lower limbs, other than those associated with a good workout.

I took one Aleve to help with the pain which has been VERY mild.

I suspect strongly that this came about because i hadn't ran for a few weeks because of being sick in bed. And when i finally started running, i perhaps should have worn tighter underwear like you suggested.

If it helps... The mild pain is strictly in the right testicle, there is no general scrotum pain. and VERY occasionally, I'll feel discomfort in the small area between he scrotum and the thigh, on the right side. (my right)

Thanks again for your response, it's very much appreciated.

Hi there,
Thanks for your question. Well since you have testicular pain only while jogging I can’t help thinking of hernia. Do you have any swelling in the inguinal region or in the scrotum? If you do have such a swelling it could well be a hernia. Hernia is usually associated with dull aching dragging pain in the inguinal region with radiation to the back or abdomen. Please see a general surgeon if you have any such problems. Some times lumbar spine diseases or low back problems could radiate pain into the thigh. Do you have any pain in the lower limbs also?
Try using tight underwear while jogging and see if it helps. Try some over-the-counter if the pain is too much. Get back to me with details. If you have any further queries do get in touch with me.
Regards,
Dr Sylvester, MD
