the cuase of my symptoms?

My symptoms over 3 months:

-burning and frequent urination
-microscopic blood in urine
-elavated psa ( 1.87 for an age of 36, normal value < 1.4).

Tests done:
1-) ct scan of urinary tract (1.5 months ago): everything was normal, except 5 mm stone in the left kidney.
the radiologist had an impression of a little bladder wall thickening but was not sure if this is due to an incompletely filled bladder (i went to toilet before ct scan) or due to an organic reason. He was suggesting cystoscopy to be done.

2-) cystoscopy (1.5 months ago): normal

3-) urine cytology (1.5 months ago): negative

4-) Had SWL (3 weeks ago) one time to break the kidney stone

5-) ultrasound of urinary tract (3 days ago): everything was normal except still 5 mm left kidney stone.

Not: in my urine tests, always no infection but almost always crystallization.

Question: What is the reason for my symptoms (burning, frequent urination and microscopic hematuria)?
Can it be bladder cancer?

I will be happy for feedback.

i found the following info.

In my dipstick tests, I have non-hemoloyezed traces of blood when I do  the test.
Then, I  did some research about its meaning and I found the information below
at the following website:

http://www.justanswer.co.uk/urology/7lh45-january-year-tests-blood-urine.html

"Hemolyzed blood is the one which is originating from upper urinary tract {kidneys} while non-hemolyzed blood is from bladder. Hemolysis is breaking of the red blood cells in the blood. This occurs when the blood stays out of the vessels for long {as when its originates at kidneys versus that from bladder}. Though this is a general rule but exceptions are there and further evaluation is needed when this occurs in significant quantity and regularly."

my dipstick tests give always non-hemolyed. I think I have bladder cancer :((

Hi Again Justme,

I've responded to your very similar post before - and I've read all your other background posts. I'm so sorry this seems to be driving you to distraction.

And I'm sorry my answer is the same - I think those tiny pieces of stone that was broken by the SWL procedure are making there way down your urinary track.

Let me share with you that I've had microscopic blood in my urine for years. It's not on every UA - but most UAs reveal blood. I do not have bladder cancer - I have chronic kidney stones. As I've said, the stone(s), no matter how tiny - scratch and irritate the delicate linings of the urinary track. This causes microscopic bleeding. When your urine is tested it shows positive for that blood. Give it awhile.

You've had all the right tests to determine if you have bladder cancer. Apparently there are no tumors or abnormal findings on any of your tests, per your physicians. Cancer can hide - but not this well. As I've said - at least a hint would have been seen - it wasn't, according to you. Life is short - too short to obsess!

Worry is like a Rocking Chair - It gives you something to do - but it gets you no where!  Try to busy yourself with something you enjoy. :o)

Take Care,
~Tuck

I'm so sorry for what you are having to endure!  No one that young should have to go thru the things you're having to.

You've had some extensive testing done and you've laid it out very concisely, but the only one that can tell you if you have cancer is going to be your Doctor and as you know there are no Doctor's on this particular Forum.

What did your Doctor tell you when you asked him/her?  I sure wish I could give you an answer but I'm afraid I can't.
Have you seen your Doctor since you've completed your tests? If so what did he/she say?  If not, when do you see your Doctor again?

Please let us know what you have OR will find out.

Thinking of you.  .............Sherry  :)
