concerned mother

Hello, I am a 26 year old mother and I have two sons, 7 and 3. Recently, I have been noticing some cloudy urine in the toilet and I was sure it was my 7 year old because he normally forgets to flush the toilet after he's done and I only see it after he's done using the toilet in the morning or right after he's done using it.

This morning, while I was brushing my teeth, he was using the toilet. After he was done, I realized that it was him for sure that had the cloudy urine. There was also this really foul smell to his urine. I asked him if there were ever a burning feeling in his bladder whenever he urinates and he said no. I'm just really concerned if I should get it checked out cause I'm really worried about it. Help!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Cloudy urine can be due to diet and certain foods, pus or proteins in urine, bladder infection, cystitis, urinary tract infection, kidney stones,Proteinuria and kidney conditions.
I would suggest a urologist’s evaluation and getting a complete examination along with urine and kidney tests to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.Kind regards.

I am not a doctor but it sounds like a UTI (urinary tract infection)  Take him to your pediatrician or family doc to check it out.  If it is a UTI a round of antibiotics will take care of it.  UTI's are common with children but it's usually girls.  Either way UTI's aren't usually serious.
