I have had probems with prostatitis since my early 20,s. I usedto get all the symptoms exept the fever. The only times that I ended up getting a fever was when I either had a UTI, kidney infection and or epididymitis or orchitis.
Currently I still have the sympoms of prostatitis but as mentioned in other posts, also have other urinary problems.
My question is, can it be possible to have prostatitis for 20 years or more? I'll be 47 tomorrow. Yesterday evening I was not able to get any sleep at all due to pain, cramping and spasms in the prostate region. The area between the rectum and scrotum.
To me it feels simmilar to what I had in my early 20's only much worse.
I still have the fistula between the prostate and rectum, and two surgical options were discussed. My fear is that if I was to go with these life altering surgeries (rerouting the flow of urine due to damage to the prostate from cahteterization), it will not relief the pain in between the scrotum and rectum.
Your insigth is greatly appreciated.
Hello,
Jelly like substance coming from the penis while passing stools can be due to the prostatic fluids. When you are passing stools, then prostate in close proximity to the anus can release prostate fluid which may appear as jelly like substance. This can happen when there is constipation and when there is any swelling or inflammation of prostate.
The typical symptoms of prostatitis are fever, pelvic, testicle, or rectal pain, frequent and painful urination and ejaculation and incomplete emptying of bladder. Keep an eye on these. If these are present you may need to get prostatitis ruled out.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
