Hello ....
I'm not aware of any nerve damage and no exams where done to evaluate. There has not been any medication applications. There was no EMG or neurologic evaluation performed. I have had 3 cystocopy procedures done over the past 15 years. These were performed to evaluate a duplicated ureter on the right side of the bladder. There is slight atrophy it appears in the right testicle. The numbness is persistent in the testicles. The atrohpy gives the penis the apperance of being slightly curved. It seems the penis tissue on the right side is decreasing over time. This goes down the right side into the anal area.
Hi,
I was actually thinking that the atrophy was more focused on the testicles. Atrophy may be due to poor nerve supply or it may be secondary to prolonged application of certain medications like corticosteroids .Have you any of these? Were they able to do any EMG or neurologic evaluation of the area?
Have you had any previous surgeries or instrumentation in the pelvic area?
Not all disease conditions have established protocol or guidelines .Your physician usually manages you on step at time based on the results of your diagnostic examinations and his working diagnosis.
The atrophy is with the penis and lower groin area. The right side of the penis and at the base where it meets and supports the scrotum has the atrophy. I've been to the urology department at George Washington Medical Center with Dr Andrawis. Peyronie's disease was ruled out. Most of the exam was focused on the bladder and urinary functions. Thank you for your recommendations. This is frustrating and I look forward to a complete exam to try to rule out or pin point possible issues. Is there a protocal when requesting a specific evaluation approach like your suggestions?
Hi,
When you posted "atrophy of the right side" were you referring to the right testicles?
I suggest that you have this evaluated by your physician. Testicular atrophy and decrease in ejaculate may need further evaluation. At this point you may need to have a scrotal ultrasound done to determine any involvement of the testicles and the epididymis.A transrectal ultrasound for prostate evaluation may also help. Hormones especially serum testosterone levels may need to be assessed.
I think that lifestyle modifications may not be enough to detemine and evaluate your condition. A proper evaluation by a urologist will be able to guide you.
Thank you for responding ...
