We talk about my kidney but nothing about the spot that was found on my lung. They want me to come back in a year and take a look at that spot it was 4cm. What does this mean. I should not worry about that spot. What should i do?

Hi
The mass has not been classified my appointment isn't till 7-24-08 for ct scan. I will no more then.I do remember the doctor sayinhg that he didn't see any cyst on my kidney but he want to get a ct scan to be sure he also said that the left kidney was very health except for that one spot. He gave me these option  freeze, cut and laparoscopic surgery.  I will know more by the end of this month.

Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

This appears to be an incidental finding of a kidney mass. Firstly, the mass has to be classified. Is this a cyst or a solid mass? Management for these  entities do differ. Cystic masses of the kidney when it does not present with symptoms may be monitored yearly through CT scans and may not need immediate intervention. However, if the mass appears to be complex and certain characteristics like calcifications are present, then you may need to have this assessed further.

Was a CT scan done? What did it say?
