need help please

In Sept of 08 I recieved unprotected oral sex from a female in October I was having trerrible pain in my lower back and below my scrotum and left side of my penis. I went to the ER and they tested for Chlymidia and Gonorhea only, I test negative for both. After seeing my regular doctor he diagnosied me with prostatitus and I went on 5 weeks of Levaquin 500. The pain subsided but I noticed my urine flow was bad and I dripped a bit after I pee'd, I couldnt clear my bladder. There was no puss or anything like that. I also noticed I had pain in my penis (left side) right before I had to pee and a bit of relief after I pee'd and then the pain would go away after about 30 minutes. The flow max has helped wonderfully and I never told my Dr about the unprotected sex but every time I go off the flow max the pain starts again. Could I still have another STD? My wife just told me she thinks she has a yeast infection (just today, 6 months after the incident..Im such an idiot)

I didnt know if there may be another cause or another type of STD I wasnt tested for or if in fact I am still having residual effects from Prostatis?

Any help would be great

I am not going to tell my wife unless I get diagnosed with STD, I have had test for Chlymidia and Gonohrea (forgive the spelling) and both came back negative, i guess my question is could it be another type of std? I have never cheated on my wife until this oral incident which I hardly remember (No exscuse) and th eguilt is killing me as well. This was the first, only, and last time.

I just need to know if  there is another STD that Levaquin 750 ( I think  isaid it was 500 before) wouldnt knock out of me?

Thank you for the rplies and future replies,

Hi,

I was told by a urologist that prostatitis is an inflamation of the prostate and does not allways have to be an infection. Is prostatitis most often an infection?

I myself have had this on numerous occasions starting at the age of about 22 to 24. I'm almost 45 now and still have this now and than. I'm married to my wife for 19 years and I know that she is faithfull. I know that that I did not get this sexually since I got married at 25. No other partners. I used to come down with UTI's about 4 times a year needing hospitalization. After a vasectomy things some what improved. I also use intermittant self cath due to a neurogenic bladder. I'm sorry to question your opinion but I know that prostatitis does not have to be an infection from sexual contact.
sgruxx I have had yeast infections that I got after long term use of antibiotics. My wife has also come down with this as well. When either one of us gets yeast, both of us are treated at the same time to ensure that we don't pass it to each other.

As much as I feel that you should be honoust to your wife, telling her about a previous sexual partners might cause unresolvable problems. You know your wife best and would be able to act based on that.

Hi,

It is hard to say if you may have has another STD infection. Prostatitis is an infection of the prostate and it can lead to feeling of pain and discomfort as you have got. However, based on an examination and investigations the doctor is able to provide and treat the condition.

You should come clean with your wife and get her treated as well examined, and get yourself examined and treated simultaneously. You may not lose hope as the doctor would be able to help you considerably.

Hi,

FloMax relaxes the prostate therefore making urination easier. I was started on FloMax by a urologist at the age of 30. I have had surgery (TURP) for an obstruction at the bladder neck. I have been on FloMax ever since.

I do not think that you might have an STD. Prostatitis can linger for years. For me it started around the age of 24 and I still have it at 44 now. If the prostate is obstructed than FloMax dialates the prostate. When you stop the FloMax your symptoms of weak urine flow and penis, scrotum and rectal pain will return. You might want to discuss the permanent use of FloMax with your doctor or a urologist. Trust me it is better to be on FloMax than to have the TURP to deal with the prostate.

God bless,

Ron
