I can tell you that with lots of experiences antibiotics cause Yeast infections. So every time my doctor prescribes an anitbiotic, he precribes: Duflucan it takes care of the yeast. It may take 1 to 3 tablets before the yeast will disappear.
Also, after taking antibiotics, your immune system is low. If any germ is aorund... look out! I caught a virus, flue, ant etc...
good luck!
well i did have a UTI back in dec also , he gave me cipro told me that i could stop at the 7th day but gave me 10 days worth . so i stopped on the 8th day . now 3 months later i got another UTI like i said with the bool in urine . so he gave me the bactrim ds and take it for 10 days , the mucas has went away so far and no blood in urine but like i said very itchy down there. My doc. said he was gonna go a urine culture but havent heard anything back from him , which is probley a good thing ? i guess ill see if i get another one with in a few months then is there something wrong? this isnt my second one either , its more like my 5-6th one within 10 yrs , my very first one was bad to where there was pure blood in my urine . didnt even have any symptoms , then after i found out i started running a slight fever. which is another thing it might be because my immune is low or something but my daughter caught a cold then the next day i caught it while i have this Uti . was running a slight fever almost 100.0 dunno whats going on but im thinking if i caugh her cold that it was pretty fast of catching it . i thought it can take 3 days to contract a virus . but maybe im wrong lol anyways ill see what happens after i take all my bactrim wether i get it again or not . ill also let you know if my culture came out fine , which it probley did . only because my doc hasnt called me yet . and thank you for answering my questions ......
Hi,
The bacterial infection gets treated by the antibiotic. However, you may be having another infection and this may be confirmed by getting a urine culture.
You should go back to the doctor who prescribed the drug and get this re-examined.
Let us know if you may need any more help.
i have to live on antibiotics due to a chronic infection, and yes antibiotics can cause yeast infections,. However a bloody mucus, does not describe the typical yeast infection to me. I really think it would be a good idea to check with your doctor. There is always the possibility that the bug your fighting is resistant to Septra and your symptoms are increasing on it!

Hi,
I have had numerous occasions where I had to use antibiotics due to kidney infections. The antibiotics caused yeast infections. It is sort of like a circle. Treat the infections then deal with the yeast infections. It is best to use Canesten or Monistat at the same time while using antibiotics to treat infections.
God bless,
Ron
