urinary urgency, I wanna ask Darrell if he found a solution in the last 7 seven years ?

Sorry if this is against the rules, but 7 years ago there was a discussion here titled : "Why won't anything work????"   http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Urology/messages/30254.html
- And there was a men Darrell with extremelly similar symptoms. If anybody knows a way I can e-mail him and ask him if he manage to found a way...
- Basically it is about urinary urgency when all the analysis came back negative. No enlarged prostate, no pain, no burning, no discharge, urine culture negative.
Only symptom is urge to urinate wich after taking many antibiotics (prescribed by the doctor even though the analysis was negative) the urge decreased.
I don't have the urge at night (like others do). Even when I was very bad and almost cannot leave the house because the urge were very strong, I still didn't have the urge at night. Cranberry tea didn't help at all.
When I drinked less water - this seem to help even though doctors recomend increase intake of water.
I am a male - 27 year old. Never had urinay problems before.

Hi everyone,

I had the same symptoms with always having the urge to urinate, especially when driving to/from work and during the day.  No urinary symptoms at night.  My Primary care and urologist tests came back normal.  My primary care then started me on Paxil, an antidepressant and anti-anxiety med.  It stopped all the urinary urge symptoms.  I could even drink a cup of coffee or an energy drink.  You should all ask your doctor to write a prescription for Paxil or another anti-anxiety med.  They've really changed my life.

I'm a 25 year old male having the same problem, for about 6 weeks now. I haven't had all of the investigations that everyone else has had, but I have the EXACT same symptoms. The doctor did a full urine analysis  which came back completely normal, no sign of infection. No pain, blood or cloudiness. I did have some burning all along the urethra at night for a couple of days, following a particularly potent curry but that passed. Maybe that was just a secondary infection from the problem.

Incidentally it went away over Christmas. Or I didn't really notice it much. But since it started I've definitely reduced my water intake, which sort of messed up the bowel movements.

It still feels as if I have a little drip of pee trying to come down the urethra  2 minutes after uriniating. Nothing changes it, and it came on immediately after an ejaculation, and hasn't changed much since, apart from a few hours here and there, and over christmas.

Of the two sphincter muscles holding the bladder shut (one in the bladder neck, and the other just below the prostate) I think the bladder neck sphincter has stopped working properly. It feels like urine is just coming too far, and it's up to the second, lower muscle to hold it back.

No leakage in the day or at night. It's just infuriating going to bed forcing yourself to go to sleep anyway. I rarely wake up with full blown symptoms, they tend to develop as the day wears on.

I've wondered if this is just hypochondria, stress related, or otherwise psychological. The amount of attention I give it definitely plays a role; the less I think about it, the less I feel it, but it's always there.

I'm glad I've found this forum. While the last post was over six months ago, I was wondering how everyone is doing with their problem, if they've had a diagnosis or anything that has actually helped? Please let us know if you have a breakthrough. I'm off to the GP again today... going to ask for a referral to the Urologist.

I have the exact same symptom as you, frequence urination, pain in the pelvic and groin area, and pain at the tip of my penis.  It's been going on for about 6 months now and my urologist told me there is nothing he can do for me.  Urinalysis never show any infection.

I think you may be onto something with the yeast. My symptoms have just got worse after a fever and a bout of antibiotics. Take digestive enzymes to combat the yeast and make the urine more alkali. Let me know if you feel any better.

Seems to me that some strange forces are at work here, whats going on with our bodies! There is a obvious pattern of symptoms surrounding frequent urination/bladder pressure! I too have been suffering from this for 7 months.. Came on over night. Excessive alcohol/strtess may be a major cause factor but im only 24 and most 24 year olds drink excessively and are fine but everyoone is built differently! Symptoms in order of appearence include constant bladder pressure, frequent urination, fewer morning erections & weakened erections/ orgasms due to the constant pressure, lower back/kidney pain, full bloated feelings, strange bowel movements, constipated, shocking sensation in testcles that comes and goes and i have to strain to pass gas comes out like a whisper sssshh.!!  The lack of morning erections and weakened erection is my scariest symptom is anyone else affected in this way or am i alone with this matter!?!?!? Ive had every test known to man done scopes, scans, ultra sounds and my bladder and prostate looked fine! Ive tried antibiotics, detrol for OAB, flomax for prostate, but no improvement! Resently ive started getting acupunture and it helps to relax me and so helps with symptoms, also it is good to have sometime regular (i go twice a week) focasing me on getting better, rather than my urologist telling me take X, Y & Z drugs go away for 2 months and come back if there is no improvement! I dont know what is the cause and what is the cure but i dont plan to live with this for the rest of my life! And lets face it, is up to us to find our own cures becuase its pretty obvious many doc's dont strive to cure only to mask the symptoms with drugs!! My reserch has lead me down many avenues, some possible things i feel might be an underlining cause of my problems are 1)yeast infections; many people think this is a womans problem but ive had yeast infections in the past, 4 in total. 3 i got off my girlfiend when she was on the pill/antibiotics but once i got one just from excessive drinking/stress in a hot climate. Yeast can travel up inside the prostate/bladder and cause the frequent urination. We've all been on antiboitics at some stage, they cause intestine yeast to grow out of control and spread, leading to irregular bowel movements, gas, bloating, hives, itchy eyes endless symptoms! 2) Many of the muscles around the bladder and genitals can be weakened due to physical activites, chronic coughing/ vomiting, stress etc. and cause our symptoms. I believe i may have pulled a muscle under the pubic bone maybe the infamous PC muscle but nto sure exactly! Shortly before my symptoms came,  i was pretty ill and spent the some of the night vomiting,at one point  i  felt a pulling sensation above my penis under the pubic bone as if my penis was pulled inwards and i vomited, strange feeling! I plan to discuss this with my urologist soon and get a scan of these muscles to see if there is any abnormalities 3) Nerve damge in bladder, but this should be eased with OAB dugs!

At the moment im tackling this problem, with an anti yeast diet (no bread nor beer), acupunture, stretching muscles around the groin, kegal excerises ( has anyone had any improvement with these?, i feel i have a stronger erection but no improvent with frequency).

Sorry im ranting on here but i hope some of this makes sense to someone and hopefully we can piece together this puzzle!

I look forward to hearing what people think!?
