Jary08 gave you good advice. I have had numerous UTI, kidney infections which are treate with the antibiotic Cipro. As the Cipro kills of the good bacteria, yeast thrives.
I found that eating yoghurt does not seem to be sufficient for me. I also take Acidophilus suppliments. You can get this at most drug stores. Stay away from sugars and white flour. Most of the grains are turned into sugars as the body processes it.
You will need to do this for several months before you will notice a difference.

My problem is that I come down with infections about every 2 to 3 months. Just before I get the yeast under control I end up with another infection. In my case this is due to the fact that I have a neurogenic bladder and currently have an indwelling catheter to ensure proper draining.

In the case of sexual partners, both should be treated at the same time or abstain from sexual intercourse for the duration of the yeast infection. Most of the times that I used to get treated my wife used to as well. It is not just a female problem, males get it too.

All the best.

you really should have antibiotics for a UTI....i always get thrush when i get a UTI so instead of using the creams etc for it i use natural bio yogurt with NO suagr.

basically, when you have antibiotics, they kill off the good bacteria too, so the yeast can grow like crazy...the bio yogurt contains the bacteria thats been killed off and so will feed on the yeast and once again get it under control.

its better than the creams cause that only kills off the yeast and doesnt replace what youve lost......yogurt is cheaper too.

so just apply a little around the affected area when it feels uncomfortable. repeat for a few days or until you think the problem has gone away. it worked amazingly for me last time, but if it doesnt work for you then get some meds. the meds used to work great for me but i took a combi (pill and cream) but it wasnt doing anything :\
