I am having the PelviLace done next month and according to my doctor it is a day surgery, unless complications arise.

She told me the incisions would not be any where near my laparotomy i just had recently that she would not go near the abdominal cavity.

Did I get told wrong...

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I hope you are talking about suburethral sling in which the surgeon fashions a piece of muscle, ligament, or tendon tissue or synthetic material into a sling that lifts the urethra back into a normal position. This involves abdominal surgery, so hospitalization is required.

The risks involved are risks of anaesthasia, infection after surgery, damage to the surrounding organs or in some rare cases, rejection of the sling. As it is an abdominal surgery.so a longer hospital stay is needed and to help speedy recovery, heavy and strenuous work is to be avoided till 6-8 weeks of surgery. It may take even longer depending on your body and the immunity of the system.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
