thanks ron - and doctornee medical .
here's a bit more info about my infection = it's e-coli , i did leave a urine sample
about 4 months ago , thats why i ended up with - levaquin -, but this is my 4th
round with that drug , they also did a blood test and said my prostate was ok ,
i've tried the cranberry - thing is - anything  with a trace of sugar in it just feeds
the infection , milk/yogurt leaves a coating and the infection just grows under it,
soda and most all bottle drinks have sugars of some sort , that kinda put that
on the  NO  list , yesterday i tried - apple cider vinagar and water , it's real nasty
to drink , but it calmed everything down , you gotta be real brave to keep the
vinagar up ,  yuck ----
think i was taking cipro before the levaquin , before that i believe it was amoxacillin
,  i'am real tired of this !!
thanks for your info , any new thoughts are welcome !!!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
What you need is a urine culture and sensitivity test done. Please stop the antibiotics for 48 hours and then give your urine  for culture and sensitivity in a sterile bottle. This will tell you what organism is causing the infection and what antibiotic will kill it permanently. Please do not take any antibiotic without this test because if the organism is not sensitive to the antibiotic, it will only sit quietly for some time and then flare up again. Meanwhile you can try cranberry juice, soda and plenty of fluids to give relief.

Hope this helps. Consult an urologist. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Have you ever tried Cipro? I used to get kidney infection every 3 to 4 months. Most of the times it worked. Lower dosis of antibiotics never did the job.
