Hi Tigger,

This is what has worked for me:

The best thing you can do is take it one day at a time. Don’t stress over it. Know that it will be a big challenge. Stay positive. Know that you can do it.

Water – How much water do you drink? If you aren’t a water drinker, then start by increasing your amounts of consumed water.

Diet – Stay away from fried ANYTHING. I am a big believer of a balanced diet but one that’s lower in carbs (the bad ones just get rid of and forget about) and higher in protein but that’ just me and how I lost weight. I do not have a specific protein source that I’d say would be better than others. Some people will tell you chicken and fish over red meat but I love my grilled stake and I eat it twice a week (or when I eat any ways lol, that’s just another story). You need your vitamins and minerals. I’d get a multivitamins supplement.  Fiber (the right amounts, not too much, not too little) will help you have that ‘oh my Gosh I’m full’ feeling and it will help you stay regular. You can find fiber in vegetables, especially the green ones; those should be your best friends, especially because they’re so rich in vitamins!! Eat your meat  grilled, BBQ’ed and always look for healthy CHANGES in your diet to avoid getting bored. Healthy eating should be a lifestyle. So, try not to eat the same things everyday.  And please, don’t deprive yourself from eating ALL your nutrients (protein, fat, carbs, vitamins and minerals…..and water) Some doctors recommend adding wine to your diet, just a little. Eat more meals throughout the day in small amounts. To start kicking it, I’d stay away from fruits that are too high in sugar like oranges or bananas. I’d add those after losing a bit of weight. When I was dieting, I bought Lecithin. It helped a lot!!!

Exercise – Working out should also be a lifestyle. Try to start walking or biking for at least 30 minutes, 30 min being your minimum, 1 hr or more being your max. If you can afford a gym, then you’ll have more options to do your cardio. You can also do weight training but I’d focus on the cardio more than anything else. You may find great benefit doing the HIIT and you can research all about it. It’s good exercise.

You’ll need will power, strength, support (and we can offer that!!!) positive attitude and happy thoughts. Take your measurements and make a monthly record of your numbers. You’ll find it more satisfying this way once you start seeing those numbers get smaller and smaller. You see, the scale may give you a smaller number today, a bigger one tomorrow, and an even bigger one the day after. But weight fluctuates and it is normal. Even so, weight fluctuation tends to make us upset and depressed. THIS is precisely WHY taking your measurements will help you stay on track and remind yourself that your weight may be fluctuating but your size has decreased!!!

Good Luck!!

Oh, and I answered your post about Lucy!!! She is gorgeous!!!
