A little worried

I am having a blast being able to go the gym and get my workouts in.  I have a 17 month old son who is absolutely wonderful.  I work three days a week 12 hour shifts at night at the hospital as an RN on Sat, Sun, and Mon.  I am going back to school in January.  Classes will be all day on Thursday.  Trying to get my bachelor's degree.  I am just worried that my workouts will slow down and my eating habits will get worse.  Any suggestions?  I am looking to all of you to give me a kick in the butt if I start to slack off. LOL.

Thanks for the advice.  Before I had my son, I was just so lazy and would hang around the house, but he has opened up so many new things to me.  I just want to be able to do the same for him and teach him how to be healthy.

wonko - thanks, its never easy going back to school.  I have been out for almost five years and now I plan to get my bachelor's and move on to my masters after that.  Hopefully it will go smoothly.

You've gotten some good advice.

From my point of view, the fact that you are thinking ahead bodes well, it shows you are not going to let the situation sneak up on you and sabotage your goals.

I'm not as busy as I used to be, but I can relate to the busy schedule.  One of my big pit falls was that I don't like to snack.  I always wanted to be able to sit and really enjoy my food.  So I would wait (and wait) until the end of my busy days to eat.  Starving all day and then eating a big late meal was BAD, and I think that caused a lot of my weight gain.

So I totally agree that you should pack meals and snacks.  I always pack my lunch for work now, and keep things like Luna bars and small baggies of nuts in my bag in case of emergencies.  I find by making sure I eat healthfully during the day, I'm a lot less likely to feel the need to eat a big meal later.  I also drink lots of water during the day.

Congrats on your determination to achieve both your degree and weight goals!

lol dont worry we will all be here to kick you JK!! I agree with Skailark you will do fine you still have those 3 days and as long as you can get in 90 mins of cardio for the week you will stay on track!! I would advice to pack your lunch though if there is anytime you will need to eat lunch or breakfast. That will definetly help you also!! A good idea you might look into that i been eating is the south beach living chicken wraps they are so good and provide a nice shot of protein which will keep your hunger down and they are only 240 calories!!

Hey! Stop worrying! Iam sure work and study are importnat. If I am right you have day offfs on Tuesday, Wednesday And Friday..That's three days in a week! You can use these days to do the workout plus you can choose another day to workout, either in working day or on your college day...I think even if you do manage to do every other day, you will still do great! But I know you are committed and determined! Let not the college or anyhting stop you from achieving your dreams!

Besides we are always here for you and you can always count on us for support!
