I write this post as proof that if we have the determination to succeed we will see success .. sometimes it takes longer than we hope, but it will happen if we truly are motivated.
My son who is only 10 started wrestilng this year .. most of his peers have 3+yrs experience and coming from a family with 3 older sisters he was clueless as to any moves whatsoever.
He has had determination to suceed since he joined the recreation program's wrestling team, and has been driven with determination to do his own "personal best" and set out to enter tournaments and scrimmages with no experience (except 4 weeks instructional training thru the town program) and never let fear of loss get in the way. After losing every match, he got up off the mat with a smile. He knew he did his personal best and his true success would one day come but he had to take baby steps along the way.
Well, yesterday it happened .... he came from behind .. the score was 7-0 and with sheer determination, the will to succeed and using the skills he developed (similar to the skills we are developing here with what and how to eat) he came up from behind, went into OVERTIME and beat his opponent 9-7 and won his first match .. the thundering applaude the last 1.5mins of the match, that came from the gym, was an unbeleivable moment .. as we all watched him see success. This is similar to all us here on WLD ... we are so excited to see each other achieve!!!!!
Tomorrow is new day, a new match for him .. he may win, he may loose, but what he has learned along the way can only help him become a better person knowing he has done his personal best.
I know I draw from his passion to succeed .... I try to apply it to myself here in WLD .. I have not lost any wt. but have not gained either .. so I'm winning just by trying.
Thanks for reading this and letting me share a very proud mommy moment .... my son probably doesn't realize it, but he helps me try to lose weight as I pull from his determination daily to succeed.
