i also wanted to add in there that you should look at your body frame. i have a larger body frame w/ curves, so i cant really go by the bmi. my doctor says i180 should be good for me but according to that, i would still be obese.... just wanted to throw that out there
Most doctors tell you that your BMI (body mass index) should be between 19 and 25. Yours is 24. I don't disagree with the above posters, but I will tell you from my experience that you may want to keep a close eye on your weight.
Try to eat healthy foods, it is a great lifestyle choice. If I could go back to my teenage years I would make a choice to stay on the South Beach Diet for life. Don't think of it as a diet, it really is just making more balanced healthy nutrition choices.
I was 5'4 5'5 in high school and 130 pounds. 150 by the time I graduated college. 170 being married for a few years. 200 after kids and am now a very unhealthy 220. Over your lifetime your weight can creep up on you. By maintaining a healthy outlook and being mindful to make good nutrious food choices you can have a lifetime of successful weight management.
Just my opinion :)
I agree with the other posters; your weight is within a healthy range for your age.
Your body is still developing, so make sure you take care of it by eating good wholesome food and getting moderate exercise. You shouldn't have to worry too much about your weight.
Jegemled is right - there's too much pressure put on teenagers to look and dress a certain way. We are all individual, and there's no way everyone can look the same.
I agree shyteen. Let me just say so much pressure is put on young girls to look a certain way and dress a certain way and trying to advertisegirls in magazines that are wearing size 6 and 8 even 4 it is riducoulous.. Honeyif ufeel like u aren't happy with your weight all uneed to do is pay attention to wat ur eating and do some excercise.. Dnt Eva let urself be categorized into wat u should look like.. Be proud of who u r
