As far as I know, the Ali diet does not restrict coffee, but all diets restrict sweeteners (including artificial) and creamers, other than a small amount of fat free milk. I did it for a while, including the pills and it does work.
Try to make water your drink of choice. If you don't like plain water, add a slice of fresh lemon, lime or cucumber to make it more refreshing. You can drink unsweetened tea or if you must have sweetener, use Stevia, which is an all natural sweetener, with no calories.

I am doing the alli diet but only the book not the pills.
What diet are you referring to? I don't know of any diet that restricts coffee - only added sugar and creamer are restricted.
