Hi weight loss community

I had a Complete Hysterectomy (Surgical Menopause) and have gained over 30 pounds. Prior to this surgery, I was athletic and toned. The lack of hormones taken during surgery make me less energetic. I have been taking natural hormones and feel better. I have joined Curves and have been feeling better. I am bound and determined to get this weight off. I use to weigh 140 and now I weigh 179. I know it will take some time to remove this weight, but I know I can do it! One day at a time.   Kristin

Welcome to the community...

I'm glad to hear that you are determined to get the weight off -- I, too had a hysterectomy; only I lost way too much weight, instead of gaining it.

You might also talk to your doctor about checking for other medical issues that cause weight gain, such as thyroid issues, insulin resistance, PCOS, etc.  I have thyroid issues and when my thyroid quit working is why I gained weight, not because of my hysterectomy.

Whatever the cause, we hope you will stay tuned in to our community and let us know your progress.
