While on a business trip to Washington, DC, I had the good fortune to stay another day and a half and tour the memorials. They were all sobering! The Korean War Memorial is larger than life-size and is made with every detail from the worry on a soldier's face to the antenna on the radio he carried on his back. There was a memorial that stated these words, which I will never forget ... "Freedom is not Free"
At the Vietnam Memorial the names on the stones went on and on and on ... and moved a person to silence and reverence realizing that all those people lost their lives ... fathers, sons ... and two young men who used to babysit me. I found their names and they died fairly close together time-wise ...
Forever grateful ...
