This is not Good. Not looking fwd to today's Sunday check in ...

Not Good.

Why do the pounds pack on faster than they come off?

In my case, two things going on so not really sure if med related - 1 is that my doc took me off the Vit D supplements until I'm bloodtested this week so it's been 2 weeks no added Vit D and not sure where levels are at and 2) my Synthroid was increased aprox 4 weeks ago and not sure if that increase added the pounds which in the past I swear have clumped on like this without warning from the Synthroid but may just be a good excuse.  Not sure here.

I confess .. I snacked on Durkees Onion  curnchies in my closet in a can asI waited for dinner to finish up today.  I was in a funk and carbs were calling out to me all day .. but I did read the ingredients and threw out the whole can after a few handfuls ... what has gotten into me ... I realize I have gained quite a few pounds, soafter tonight, I call it quits and eat all the good stuff in site instead of the past two days eatin gthe junk.  I'll rely on my NEW habits that I learned that helped so much ... ok .... enough self pity and eating to comfort ... lots of stress with my oldest starting college .. even though she is commuting it is still very stressful and all new around here and a change for her to mangae with ,too & I took on too many emotions at once ... was not a good week to gain mega pounds and then eat all the good foods and carb cravings were ALL given into .. every single one of them but not Tomorrow.

Tomorrow is a new day and I will not give in.

That's interesting about new recommended levels for vit D -- wonder when they will make up their minds!!       lol

BTW - there was someone else asking about vit D levels - I suggested that you might be able to help - maybe you haven't seen it - I think it's here on WL&D....

I form ongoing kidney stones that are calcium oxalate and higher levels of Vit D promote kidney stones .. can you believe it ... it's a no-win situation!!!!   Also, the recent lab results indicate that the lower level of normal are now the new recommended levels but I cannot recall the reason why .... i'm not too helpful am I  LOL ??

Ahhh a reprieve on the Sunday weigh in ... yeah!

Appears that you don't have to worry, as I don't see a Sunday weigh in.

Don't forget that some people DO gain even when their thyroid levels are on the hyper side.  I wonder why your doctor would take you off the vit D when your levels are barely in range??  It seems he would leave you on it at least until you reach mid range, doesn't it?  Or don't they do it that way?

PS .. if anything, my thyroid levels are more hypER than hyPO so with most people they'd lose weight I'd think and not add it.   My Vit D was at level 33 with 32-100 being normal.  That was up from 9 in January so my Doc said that Vit D supplements are for short term fix and not long term usage and can be toxic if taken too much so wanted me off for two weeks and retested.
