I guess I have to change my lifestyle...

My HDL is 2234. Ye, 2234. All from sugar and chocolate, more specifically. 1/2 lb a day or so...and 14 cups of coffee a day. Is cutting out the sugar enough to correct my levels? 74% of my triglycerides are from sugar, or so the tests said. Plee advise....

Please check out marksdailyapple.com. You should cut back on sugars DEFINITELY they are highly inflammatory. Inflammation is the leading cause of cholesterol problems. FAT is not the culprit but you have to eat the right kind of Fat.. the right kind of foods. FOODS TO AVOID - GRAINS, SUGAR.. Dark chocolate is fine, 70% or higher and if you are putting tons of sugar in your coffee I would definitely stay away from it.. lots of caffeine is not good for you either... You can get rid of high cholesterol by changing how you eat. You don't have to get on medication, it causes plenty of side effects.. a fantastic video to watch is actually from the Dr. Oz show -It's a two or three part video so watch the first part then click on the next video.. http://www.doctoroz.com/episode/doctors-who-say-everything-you-know-about-cholesterol-wrong?video=16023

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
Oh! Yes! Usually a high HDL is considered heart protective, but not this high value. You need to cut down on chocolate and calories including sugars and sweets of all types, fat, butter etc. However, diet control alone may not be able to lower such high levels. You may need medications for this. Also, you need to monitor LDL cholesterol and triglycerides level. Please cut down on your calories and repeat the blood test after 2 weeks. Meanwhile please consult your doctor about what medications you need and whether there is a mistake in reading and this is actually LDL level. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
