Ive been doing yoga since augest 18 & its been 4 days & my muscles are sore every part of my body hurts should i lay off the yoga & take a break or keep doing yoga?
Okay, thaankyou so muuch :)
You got the right idea. Keep it up and don't forget to keep us posted on progress.
Oh - one thing I forgot to mention -- as you do the walking and yoga, you will be building muscle, so you may not actually "lose" weight, even though you will get smaller, because muscle is packed tighter than fat.
I suggest that you take your measurements (waist, hips, thighs, upper arms, etc), so you have a "baseline", then check your measurements periodically, to see if/when they start getting smaller, even if the scale doesn't change much.
School for me starts in 3 weeks && i still walk every night & i even eat less to help as well
Hey, way to go....... I'm really happy to hear that you're trying the yoga. I hope you are keeping up with your walking, as well, because they both work hand in hand.
Can't guarantee your butt will get smaller before school starts, since it's already started in some areas, but if you keep up the walking and the yoga, you can get it toned well and keep it that way.
Ive started doing some yoga i do yoga 2-3 times a day for 20 minutes its actually fun & i feel more loose & flexible.. & i wanted a smaller butt before high school starts
I was walking about 5-6 miles/day, which was taking just over an hour, going at a pretty good clip. It took about a month before it was noticeable in my butt/thighs.
You're wise to go after it cools off; walking in the heat of the day is not good, as you run the risk of getting too hot.
Hi,
After numerous efforts I came to conclusion that the best way to lose weight is healthy diet and regular workout. Beware of diets (http://www.pissedconsumer.com/consumer-reviews/weight-loss-programs.html) that promise quick weight loss - they are very unhealthy.
Like i said on really self consious & how long of walks should i do a day? & for how long i usually go around 7 pm or 5pm when its cooler out
I figured you would be pretty young......your body still has a lot of developing to do, so you have to be careful, because you don't want problems as you get older.
You aren't overweight for your height.... you just need to tone the butt/thigh area. I could be your grandma, but my butt has always been my worst feature, too......... well, really not the butt, itself, but the saddlebags that make the butt look bigger/wider than it is.
I have a really good friend that I walk with during the winter months and we did 6-8 miles/day, during most of the winter -- golly, my butt toned up and my saddlebags actually got smaller, even though I didn't lose weight (darn)....unfortunately, my friend left in the spring and I didn't keep up the walking by myself. She'll be back in 6 weeks; now I have to start all over. :-(
Both volleyball and basketball are excellent exercises.......keep up with the walking and maybe try some yoga, just for kicks and giggles......maybe your butt isn't really as big as you think it is.
If you hate your butt you just need to work on it. The simple fact is at 6" and 145lb you aren't overweight or need to lose weight. At this point it's about excerises that focus on that region of you body.
I am actually 14 & i play soccer & basketball , i actually just got back from an 1 hour & 10 minute walk & its just my butt is the biggest thing on my body & i really hate it :( i just started going for walks today & ive even ate less then i usually do
For starters, nobody will judge you.
It would be nice to know how old you are, as age usually figures into weight loss issues. That said, as female, at 6' tall and 145 lbs (I should be so lucky) you are certainly not overweight, so I wonder if you only need to tone your body (particularly, the butt), rather than lose pounds.
If you're still in school, I'd have to wonder if you are in any type of sports, as most are really good exercise.
Walking is excellent for toning and tightening the butt and upper thighs; it doesn't take long, walking several miles/day at a brisk pace to notice a difference. Yoga is also excellent for toning/losing weight. Both walking and yoga will tone the whole body.
You can check out YouTube for tons of videos on yoga poses. Yoga emphasizes balance, breathing and relaxation. It works a lot on core muscles. Sounds like something for old folks, but it's really not.
